A young actress who was publicly criticized by veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Ezeonu for attending an audition without a bra has shared her side of the story, expressing distress over the backlash she has faced. During the audition, Ezeonu reprimanded two women for what she deemed inappropriate attire, questioning their seriousness as aspiring actors.
“Who are you trying to impress? That’s why people see us as unserious. I’m a serious-minded actor; you can’t catch me dressed like this, even when I was your age,” she stated.
Following the incident, one of the women took to social media to defend herself.
She explained that she and her friend had dressed casually for a meal at the restaurant hosting the audition and decided to try their luck, unaware their outfits would draw such criticism. She emphasized that their braless appearance was not deliberate for the audition.
The young woman also revealed that the public humiliation extended into her personal life. After her father saw the viral video of the incident, he scolded her harshly, accusing her of bringing shame to the family.
