Comfort Emmanson is now serving time at Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos after what can only be described as an absolutely shocking meltdown on an Ibom Air flight that left crew members battered and traumatized.
She flat-out refused to turn off her phone, creating such a scene that the pilot himself had to get involved.
Eventually, another passenger stepped in to switch off the device, which only seemed to make Emmanson angrier.
She launched into a verbal tirade that left other passengers uncomfortable, though the crew managed to calm things down enough for the flight to depart on schedule.
Once the plane touched down in Lagos, Emmanson apparently spent the entire landing plotting her revenge.
She waited patiently as every single passenger filed off the aircraft, then unleashed absolute chaos on the crew members who had tried to do their jobs.
What happened next was captured on video and has since gone viral, shocking viewers across social media.
Emmanson went after the purser, the same crew member who had initially asked her to turn off her phone, with frightening violence.
She stomped on the woman, ripped off her wig, snatched her glasses and threw them to the ground, then began beating her with her own shoe.
When another crew member tried to step in and help their colleague, Emmanson turned on them too, delivering a sharp slap.
But perhaps most terrifying of all, she then tried to grab a fire extinguisher to use as a weapon, a move that could have seriously injured someone or damaged the aircraft.
The pilot immediately called for airport security, but even their arrival didn’t stop Emmanson’s rampage.
Video footage shows the battered purser actually having to block the aircraft door to prevent Emmanson from leaving before help arrived.
When security personnel from both Ibom Air and the Federal Airports Authority finally boarded the plane, Emmanson’s violence escalated even further.
She attacked them too, slapping the ground supervisor and fighting against anyone who tried to restrain her.
It took multiple security officers to finally subdue and remove her from the aircraft, where she was immediately handed over to the police.
Tunde Moshood, spokesperson for Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, didn’t mince words when announcing her fate on social media: “The more reason the flying public should be more careful, the unruly passenger on Uyo–Lagos bound Ibom Air, Miss Comfort Emmanson, has been charged to court and she’s now cooling off in Kirikiri.”
Ibom Air has reported the entire incident to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and, unsurprisingly, has banned Emmanson from ever flying with them again.
