Senate President Godswill Akpabio has strongly condemned the brutal killing of 16 travellers in Edo State, describing the attack as a senseless act of violence that has no place in society.
In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by his Special Assistant on Media, Jackson Udom, Akpabio expressed deep sorrow over the incident and called for a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“I am deeply saddened and disturbed by the gruesome murder of 16 travellers in Edo State. This senseless act of violence is unacceptable and has no place in our society,” Akpabio stated.
He urged security agencies to ensure the culprits are held accountable and emphasized the need for collective efforts to promote peace, unity, and stability in the country.
Extending his condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Edo State, Akpabio prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed and strength for their loved ones in this difficult time.
