Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has come out in support of embattled singer Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, as controversy continued to trail his alleged link to the death of his erstwhile signee, Mohbad.
The drama returned to the forefront after a leaked WhatsApp group chat of social media critic VeryDarkMan fueled the discussions against Marlian Music CEO. In a video posted some time back, Angela Okorie referred to Naira Marley as “a sweet soul” and recalled how he had once thrown her a memorable birthday surprise and genuinely encouraged her when she needed encouragement the most.
She also revealed that the encouragement she received from the artiste led them to work together in the aspect of music, describing him as shy and prone to being misunderstood.
“The encouragement he gave me, nobody has ever done it for me within this devilish world where people unjustly envy others. Naira Marley is not a fighter, he is very reserved and hardly speaks,” she added.
Angela also recalled going to his home and witnessing his shy personality, which was a contrast to the public persona of the controversial artist.
In 2022, a video that went viral of her birthday celebration saw Naira Marley and actor Charles Okocha attend, where the singer sprayed her with cash to applause from the partygoers a moment which made headlines back then.
Her recent position in supporting Naira Marley has now created new discussion across the social media platform, as everybody responded to her statement against the inconsistency of the controversy.
