A socio-political and economic pressure organization based in the north, Arewa 100% Focus, has disapproved of what it classified as continuous victimization and hostility against the Dangote Refinery and its proprietor, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, demanding quick intervention from the federal government.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the group’s president, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Sa’ad (Fakai), was extremely worried about the “heating argument” between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Dangote Group. He described it as “unjust, unpatriotic, and against national interest.”.
“We are strongly condemning the escalating controversy over Dangote Group and PENGASSAN, and unprovoked hostility against Alhaji Aliko Dangote,” Sa’ad declared. “This intolerance against a man whose vision, entrepreneurship, and investment has spurred Nigeria’s industrial revolution is unjust, unpatriotic, and against national interest. Rather than persecution, such colossus effort deserves awards, commendations, and national acclaim.”
The group also raised an alarm over what it termed concerted attacks to discredit and defame the Dangote Refinery, saying the efforts could undermine one of Nigeria’s most valuable economic assets.
“Rebutting all sabotage efforts, disinformation, and economic hostility acts on the Dangote Refinery,” the statement went on.
