Nigerian actor and comedian Babatunde Tayo Bernard, popularly known as Baba Tee, publicly apologized after a confession that he had a one-night stand with Ijoba Lande‘s estranged wife, Dara, during a game of Truth or Dare. The scandal began when there were allegations that Baba Tee had an affair with Dara, which he first denied.
But under pressure, he later admitted to having the affair, which outraged fans and members of the entertainment industry. In a heartfelt video shared online, Baba Tee expressed deep remorse, admitting that he never expected the situation to become public.
He acknowledged his mistake and pleaded for forgiveness from Ijoba Lande, his fans, and the public.
“I never knew this could come to the public. I’m sorry about that,” he said.
The comedian referred to Truth or Dare as an adult’s game but owned up to having realized the ethical implications of what he had done. Looking back at his life, he decried the fact that his decisions were now risking dominating his achievements.
“Please regard me as a first-time offender… If this is repeated, do not hold me back. Sorry, Ijoba Lande,” he apologized.
