Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has boldly stated that no love song in the country’s history can rival 2Face Idibia’s classic hit, African Queen. During a podcast conversation with Major AJ, Blaqbonez passionately defended his stance, emphasizing the song’s timeless impact.
“There is no song like 2Face’s African Queen. The song is the greatest love song in Nigeria. It was the greatest song for decades,” he declared.
Originally released in 2004, African Queen remains one of Nigeria’s most iconic love songs. It gained massive recognition both locally and internationally, with its heartfelt lyrics and soulful melody.
The music video also featured Annie Idibia—who was 2Face’s girlfriend at the time and later became his wife—alongside other notable faces like actress Yvonne Jegede.
