Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have fled their Beverly Hills home with their four children, four dogs, and a pet bearded dragon as the destructive Palisades Fire continues to spread across Los Angeles County. The former model, 39, and the Grammy-winning musician, 46, made the difficult decision to leave their mansion, purchased in 2020, as the fire threatened their community.
The couple, along with their children Luna, 8, Miles, 6, and 1-year-old twins Esti and Wren, have sought refuge in a hotel.
“This is surreal,” Teigen wrote on her Instagram Story Wednesday, sharing a selfie from her closet as she packed. “I’m very scared now. Packing.”
Accompanying their kids, the family also brought their four dogs and a bearded dragon named Sebastian to safety.
In a lighthearted moment, Teigen posted a video from their hotel room, captioned, “4 kids, 4 dogs and a bearded dragon walk into a hotel.” The clip showed Teigen and Legend relaxing on the bed with their pets. Despite the upheaval, Teigen expressed gratitude for their safety while acknowledging the plight of others.
“We are ok as of right now, and I felt weird saying that with so many people we know and don’t know who are not ok,” she shared.
“Thank you for reaching out. Looking for any and all ways to help our community right now, please send anything you see.”
She also praised the bravery of first responders, adding, “And God bless the firefighters and all first responders.”
The Teigen-Legend family is among tens of thousands forced to evacuate from Pacific Palisades and neighboring areas. Four major fires — the Palisades, Eaton, and Sunset fires among them — have ravaged over 27,000 acres of land in Los Angeles County. The blazes are being fueled by strong winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation, with firefighters still struggling to contain them.
