Celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest is under fire after flaunting a gift of 47 cows he bought for a friend’s mother’s funeral, despite failing to fulfill his promise to bail out musician Speed Darlington, also known as Akpi. Fans were quick to remind him of his unfulfilled vow after he shared a video showcasing the cows on social media.
The businessman had previously declared his intention to secure Speed Darlington’s release following the latter’s clash with singer Burna Boy.
Cubana Chief Priest had written on Sunday:
“Tomorrow we are coming for you, Akpi Nwamama. Monday is almost here. Let’s now showcase power.”
However, days have passed, and Speed Darlington remains in detention, leading to criticism from fans who accused Cubana Chief Priest of prioritizing showmanship over his promise. In the video posted on Instagram, Chief Priest was seen at Ukpor, Anambra State, preparing for the funeral rites of his friend Zenco’s late mother.
Alongside the footage, he captioned:
“Spent My Whole Day At Ukpor With My Visionary Leader Zenco In Preparation Of The Funeral Rites Of His Beloved Mother.
As Usual, I Did Not Come Alone I Came With 47 Life Cows To Mark The 47 Years He Spent On Earth With Mama.
Take Heart Oga Zenco. On Friday We Shut Ukpor Anambra State Down For @dgeneralbitters 🍃.”
While some fans commended his generosity, others were quick to call him out:
- @gowell_man: “Akpi Nwamama still dey cell, Boss 😢 @cubana_chiefpriest.”
- @neecheeboizee001: “Oga, go and bail AKPIN @speeddarlintv. You said you’d show your power by bailing him, now you’re showing us 47 cows 🐄.”
