The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, dismissing earlier reports that he was kidnapped and killed in Abuja. In a statement, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh detailed the circumstances surrounding his death. According to the police, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel in Area 3, Abuja, on March 3, 2025, at around noon, paying N22,000 for a night’s stay.
Shortly after checking in, he requested the hotel staff to escort a female visitor to his room. The woman left the premises at 4:00 PM the same day. However, Parradang did not leave his room afterward. At around 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, a military officer friend, concerned about his whereabouts, traced him to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel receptionist and the officer entered his room, where they discovered Parrandang deceased, seated in a chair.
The incident was immediately reported to the Durumi Police Station, and officers arrived at the scene to secure the area, take photographs, and collect evidence. His body has been moved to the National Hospital for further examination, while hotel staff are cooperating with investigations. Authorities have launched efforts to trace and arrest the woman who visited him before his death.
