In a disturbing case from Ogun State, police have taken a man into custody after his wife reported him for allegedly sexually assaulting their four-year-old daughter. The suspect, Idowu Adebanjo, was arrested following a complaint filed by his wife, Aderonke Adebanjo, at the police station on January 15.
The incident reportedly took place in the Okunsanya Ijebu Igbo area of the state. Speaking to journalists, police spokesperson CSP Omolola Odutola confirmed that the young victim has been taken to the General Hospital in Ijebu Igbo for medical examination.
She said that preliminary investigations are currently underway, after which the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
