The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed Mr. Michael Ango from his position as Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS). The decision was announced on Friday via a brief press statement issued by Wike’s senior special assistant for Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
In the statement, the minister directed the most senior official within the FCT-IRS to take charge of the agency’s operations immediately. No specific reason was given for Ango’s removal.
The FCT-IRS is the agency responsible for assessing, collecting, and accounting for all taxes, levies, and other revenues due to the FCT Administration.
