Gunmen Abduct Governor Sule’s Aide in Lafia

Suspected kidnappers gunmen kidnapped Dr. Muhammed Egye Osolafia, also known as Deedat, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa’s Senior Special Assistant for Humanitarian Services.

Abduction occurred on Saturday night outside his house in Tudun Amba, Lafia, just after returning home. Eyewitnesses reported that the abductors stormed the community, firing into the air before shooting him point-blank.

His abduction was confirmed by Mr. Peter Ahemba, Senior Special Adviser to the governor on Public Affairs, who had termed the occurrence “sad and unfortunate.” Ahemba said he was informed of the occurrence by another colleague.

The incident occurred less than two months ago when Barrister Yusuf Musa, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Culture, was also kidnapped from Ungwan Nungu residence, Lafia.

Attempts to get comment from Nasarawa State Command Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, were unsuccessful up to the time of filing this report.
