IGP Appoints Benjamin Hundeyin as New Force Public Relations Officer

The Police Inspector-General, Kayode Egbetokun, has appointed the former Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin, as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

Hundeyin is a well-experienced security expert and communicator holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from the Lagos State University as well as a Master of Science degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.

He has also received specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army Leadership Institute, Jaji, and is a member of several professional associations, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).

His working experience is both in home and foreign postings, including service with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) where he gained experience in peacekeeping and crisis communication.

Hundeyin has also served as the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson from March 2022, where he gained a lot of public and media visibility for being very busy in engaging the public and media.

As Force PRO, he is expected to lead the communications agenda of the Nigeria Police Force, construct trust, crisis management, and strengthening of transparency and public trust.

He replaces Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command.
