Jessica Alba Opens Up About Marriage Challenges Ahead of Rumored Split from Cash Warren

Hollywood actor, Jessica Alba recently shared an honest reflection on her nearly 17-year marriage to Cash Warren, shedding light on the highs and lows of their relationship. Just months later, reports suggest that the couple has separated and is heading for divorce. On January 8, TMZ reported that Alba, 43, and Warren, 45, have parted ways, marking the end of a relationship that began in 2004 on the set of Fantastic Four.

Alba, who portrayed Sue Storm, met Warren while he was working as an assistant to the film’s director. They married in May 2008 and have since welcomed three children: daughters Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 5. The actress and businesswoman opened up about the complexities of married life during an April 2024 appearance on Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt’s BDA Baby podcast.

In the candid interview, Alba reflected on the reality of long-term relationships.

“It’s all rosy for 2.5 years, but then after that, you become roommates,” she admitted. “And it’s just, like, you’re roommates.

You’re just going through the motions. It’s the responsibility. It’s a lot of, like, checking the boxes.”

Alba also revealed that while she and Warren had a strong foundation of friendship and trust, those qualities sometimes made it easy to take each other for granted.

“We have, like, obviously the friendship, the comfort of, like, ‘you’re not going anywhere,’ and so sometimes you don’t treat those people the best,” she explained.

“You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings.”

The couple had made efforts to prioritize their relationship, including scheduling weekly date nights.

However, Alba acknowledged that life’s demands often got in the way. “That eventually stops because of whatever,” she said.

During the interview, she also shared personal insights about motherhood, revealing that her first two pregnancies with daughters Honor and Haven were surprises, while Hayes was a planned addition to their family. Alba concluded the discussion with a lighthearted acknowledgment of the ongoing work required in relationships.

“So that is something that I think is a constant one to work on,” she said, before adding with a laugh, “If you’ve figured it out in your relationship, let me know.”
