Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has ratified the appointment of Professor Ademola Popoola as the Chief Medical Director, Thomas Adewumi Teaching Hospital, Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area.
The appointment follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) entered into between Kwara State Government and Thomas Adewumi University, Oko, whereby the General Hospital, Omu-Aran, was formally upgraded to the University teaching hospital.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina El-Imam, explained that the appointment of Popoola is strategic and intended to introduce visionary leadership that will drive the hospital towards global standards in medical training, research, and delivery of healthcare.
She described the move as bold in nature that will not only enhance Thomas Adewumi University’s medical training programmes but also enhance access to quality healthcare services for citizens of Kwara State and beyond.
With this appointment, the Kwara State Government reaffirmed its dedication to building a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous future for citizens,” she stated.
