Lagos State Police have officially debunked a viral video falsely claiming that a restaurant on Airport Road was involved in killing people and serving human meat to customers.
Police spokesman CSP Benjamin Hundeyin called the allegations completely baseless.
Following the video’s circulation, Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh immediately directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to thoroughly investigate the claims.
The investigation found no evidence to support any of the disturbing accusations made in the video.
“We’re asking the public to ignore this video completely. These false claims could create unnecessary fear and harm local businesses,” Hundeyin stated.
“Our investigation confirmed that the restaurant is operating normally and legally. Customers can continue dining there without any concerns.”
The police are now working to identify whoever created and spread the misleading video.
They’ve asked anyone with reliable information about the source to contact them, promising that all tips will be kept confidential.
Hundeyin also reminded Lagos residents to fact-check information before sharing it on social media, emphasizing how quickly false stories can spread and damage reputations or cause public panic.
The restaurant has been cleared to continue normal operations while police pursue those responsible for the misinformation campaign.
