The MAAUN Group of Universities has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology, Canada, for fostering collaboration in online English language training, student exchange, and other mutually complementary academic programmes.
The MAAUN Group comprises the Canadian University of Nigeria (Abuja), Franco British International University (Kaduna), Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (Maradi), and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (Kano).
The MoU, which was signed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, saw Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder and President of MAAUN Group, signing on behalf of the four universities, while David Agnew signed for Seneca College.
In the MoU, the two institutions will collaborate in several areas, including:
Offering online English language instruction to students across the MAAUN Group.
Offering student exchange programs, where MAAUN students can continue their studies at Seneca.
Providing educational consultation and staff development opportunities for MAAUN staff.
Creating joint academic programmes according to common priorities.
Promoting the recruitment and promotion of students who want to study at Seneca.
During the signing ceremony, Prof. Gwarzo reaffirmed the commitment of the MAAUN Group to the full implementation of the agreement, saying that the partnership would promote research, innovation, and academic excellence.
He was optimistic that the collaboration would lay a firm foundation for constructive cooperation between the two institutions.
