The Chief Executive Officer of Megastar Media Communications, Adeniyi Ifetayo, has urged the federal government to provide financial bailouts for media organizations to help them navigate the current economic downturn in the country. Speaking at the official unveiling of Reigh Advertising and Megastar Media Communications Office in Abuja, Ifetayo emphasized the critical role of the media in nation-building and called for government intervention similar to the financial support extended to journalists and media houses in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Media as a Pillar of National Identity
Ifetayo stressed that media organizations serve as image-makers for the country and should be treated as an essential sector deserving government support.
“Every industry should be given a bailout, especially the fourth estate of the realm. In Europe, even during lockdowns, journalists received financial support from the government. If we cannot replicate that fully, we must at least recognize the media as a critical sector that projects Nigeria’s image globally,” he stated.
Reigh Advertising & Megastar Media: Amplifying Voices
Highlighting the mission of Reigh Advertising and Megastar Media Communications, Ifetayo said the company aims to connect businesses globally and provide media visibility, reputation management, and crisis communication services.
“We are here to amplify whatever you are doing your profile, your product, or your business. Through our global media partnerships, we can help Nigerian brands attract investors from China, the Middle East, and beyond,” he added.
Strategic Partnerships & Practical Media Training
Ifetayo also revealed that Megastar Media has partnered with Pan-Atlantic University to offer students a six-month to one-year hands-on training in the media industry.
“Many universities focus only on theory. However, Pan-Atlantic University ensures its students gain practical experience by working with media organizations like ours, preparing them for real-world journalism and media operations,” he explained.
Nigeria’s Business Potential & Diaspora Perspective
Commenting on the ease of doing business in Nigeria, Ifetayo argued that despite economic challenges, Nigeria remains a land of opportunities for those willing to work hard.
“Many Nigerians in the diaspora feel stranded and regret leaving because they assumed Nigeria had nothing to offer. But the reality is that there are still many success stories here. With focus, speed, and dedication, anyone can make it in Nigeria,” he concluded.
