Mom Goes Viral for Refusing to Sign School’s “We’re Not Responsible” Form

A Nigerian mother has become an internet sensation after flat-out refusing to sign what might be the most ridiculous school document ever – a waiver saying the school won’t be held responsible if something happens to her child.

The whole thing started when her kid’s school handed her an “undertaking” that basically said they’d “try” to keep students safe but wouldn’t be accountable if things went wrong.

The mom’s reaction was exactly what you’d expect from any true, loving parent.

“I don’t understand. I put my child in your school, and you say you cannot be held responsible for his life?

Why ask me to sign that?” she said in a video that’s now making rounds online.

And honestly, she’s got a point. What parent drops their kid off at school thinking, “Well, hopefully they make it home in one piece”?

The video has Nigerians fired up, with most people cheering her on and questioning what kind of school would even ask parents to sign something like that.

The comments say it all:

“Better run oooo,” wrote one user, while another asked, “Which kind of school be this? Which kind of undertaking is this?”

Others were more direct: “Simply change school, you dey do rubbish” and “Na to withdraw that pikin from that school o.”

One person summed up what many were thinking: “So basically the school is admitting they don’t care about a child’s safety?

That’s them washing their hands of responsibility. If they can’t guarantee accountability, why should parents even trust them with their kids?”

The praise for the mother was overwhelming, with one user writing: “That’s why it’s good to marry an intelligent lady.

Congrats to the man that married this woman — she reasons and speaks eloquently. I support her 1 million times.”
