Nathaniel Bassey Responds to Fan’s Request for Earlier Hallelujah Challenge Times

Nathaniel Bassey

Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has addressed a social media user who asked him to keep the Hallelujah Challenge sessions shorter, saying early morning commitments make late-night worship difficult.

The Hallelujah Challenge, which Bassey launched in 2017 through Instagram Live from his living room, has become a global worship phenomenon.

Millions join the month-long nightly sessions each year for praise and worship.

An X user, @meyinab, recently asked the singer to wrap up on time, writing: “Pastor Nathan can we stick to time please. Some of us have to wake up early biko.”

Bassey responded graciously: “You are blessed. Kindly log out at 1am and watch later in the day. Blessings.”

The exchange got people talking. Some sympathised with the user’s concern about needing sleep before early work schedules, while others praised Bassey for prioritizing the worship experience over rigid time limits.

The conversation comes after a retired nurse recently expressed worry about Bassey’s health, urging people to pray for him after he appeared tired during recent sessions.

Despite health concerns and scheduling debates, Bassey continues leading the Hallelujah Challenge with passion.

He recently opened up about his wife’s difficult journey through five miscarriages, using their testimony to encourage participants to keep trusting God through tough times.
