The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has reaffirmed the commitment of traditional institutions to promoting respect for elected leaders and sustaining peace in their regions. He made the statement during a visit from the traditional ruler of the Aboh Kingdom, Dr. Greg Oputa III, and the Aboh Council of Chiefs at his palace in Warri.
Highlighting the deep historical ties between Warri and Aboh Kingdoms, Ogiame Atuwatse III emphasized the importance of preserving their shared heritage and pledged to collaborate with his Aboh counterpart to drive community development.
Obi Oputa III of Aboh acknowledged the critical role traditional rulers play in guiding society and fostering local development. He noted that his visit aimed to explore avenues for joint initiatives that would uplift their people. Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, he shared his determination to attract growth to the kingdom and strengthen the spiritual bond within the community.
Both monarchs agreed that traditional institutions must continue to seek ways to enhance their people’s well-being and called for collective efforts to achieve lasting progress.
