Ousted Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, alongside the current Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, and other lawmakers, are currently holding a closed-door meeting outside the Assembly chamber on Monday ahead of a scheduled plenary at 1 PM.
It was gathered that key figures of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the party chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, and the state’s Attorney General, Lawal Pedro (SAN), were also present at the meeting. Obasa arrived at about 1:30 PM to join the ongoing discussions, which are being held under a tent. Shortly after, he, Meranda, Ojelabi, and Pedro moved away from the rest of the lawmakers for a separate, high-level discussion.
The nature of the meeting remains undisclosed, but it is believed to be linked to the ongoing leadership crisis in the Lagos Assembly following Obasa’s ouster.
