Popular TikTok content creator Peller, has sought a religious position following mounting criticism on social media. Peller has just been called out recently after expressing worry that Nigerians have joined in on the popular 30-day rant challenge. He cautioned in a trending video that the kind of activities engaged in may result in the possible ban of TikTok in Nigeria.
Having gained popularity through his live streams on the platform, Peller challenged online provocateurs to seek other avenues where they could vent their frustrations. He indicated that there was a necessity to have TikTok remain open as a platform for content creators, stating, “If you really want to rant, go to Instagram or even the market; just don’t do that here. If TikTok is banned, then we have a genuine issue.”
the outcry, Peller made a disclosure in a TVC interview that he lost nearly 500,000 followers on TikTok and 400,000 on Instagram due to his stance.
In the wake of the backlash, the influencer was seen attending a mosque, where he engaged in prayer. In a video that he uploaded on the internet, he showed himself holding prayer beads as he addressed his critics. He explained that the intensity of the online insults had led him to seek spiritual strength and guidance.
