Several associates of controversial singer Portable have been arraigned in court following their alleged assault on government officials in Ogun State. The incident, which took place at Portable’s bar, Odogwu, in Iyana Ilogbo, Ogun State, involved officials from the Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).
Reports indicate that the officials had visited the establishment for an inspection when they were allegedly attacked by Portable and his men. Popular influencer @man_of_letters shared details of the altercation on X, revealing that the officials had previously visited the bar before the situation escalated.
The accused individuals—Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26)—were arraigned on five charges, including:
- Assault
- Obstruction of government duties
- Possession of dangerous weapons
- Conduct likely to cause a breach of peace
According to court proceedings, the accused allegedly beat up planning officers Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero.
Witnesses also claim Portable and his associates were armed with guns and cutlasses during the confrontation.
