President Tinubu Mourns Sheikh Modibbo Daware, Praises His Legacy

President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Modibbo Ibrahim Daware, a revered Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyya sect from Adamawa State. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Sheikh Daware’s humility, piety, and lifelong dedication to scholarship, describing his death as a painful loss to his family, community, and the nation.

“I extend my condolences to the Adamawa State Government, the late cleric’s family, and his followers. May God grant him peace and mercy in the hereafter. Sheikh Daware’s legacy will continue to inspire us, reminding us of the impact of faith, knowledge, and selfless service to humanity,” Tinubu stated.

Sheikh Daware passed away early Friday morning after a prolonged illness. His contributions to Islamic education and spiritual guidance earned him widespread respect across Nigeria.
