Queen Dami, the estranged wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyeye, has hit back at claims made by the Alaafin’s daughter, Adeyemi Adebisi Aminat, regarding the paternity of her child. Last week, Adebisi accused Dami of hypocrisy, alleging she publicly questioned others about paternity issues while reportedly being unsure of her own child’s father. She claimed Dami purchased her child in Port Harcourt and warned her against tarnishing the throne’s dignity.
In her response, Queen Dami dismissed the allegations, stating that her strained relationship with Adebisi during her time in the palace was the root of the accusations. She revealed that the late King restricted her from working, though she managed to sell fabrics secretly online. Dami expressed her readiness to undergo a DNA test to confirm her son’s paternity, labeling the claims baseless. She also pointed out that Adebisi, despite having two children, is not married, suggesting her criticism was unwarranted.
“I am not the first Queen to leave the Alaafin’s palace, and these lies are only being spread because I expressed interest in returning to Portable. I will not be silenced,” she stated.
