Media personality Radiogad has jumped into the heated debate surrounding billionaire Aliko Dangote after several accidents involving Dangote trucks resulted in injuries and deaths across Nigeria.
Taking to social media, Radiogad shifted blame away from Dangote, instead pointing fingers at pedestrians who he believes act recklessly on the roads.
“Everybody is pouring out their frustration on Dangote, but they won’t blame those crossing the road carelessly. A sensible person will always look left and right before crossing,” he posted.
His comments immediately divided social media users. Some mocked his position, with one user joking about his video presentation style, while another dismissed him as someone who simply feeds off public anger.
However, others found merit in his argument. One Nigerian agreed that pedestrians often cross roads without regard for their safety, questioning whether people truly value their lives.
The criticism wasn’t one-sided though. Several users pushed back against Radiogad’s stance, highlighting Nigeria’s poor road infrastructure as the real culprit.
“Where are the crosswalks in the country? Why should pedestrians have to navigate major roads on their own?” one user argued, pointing out that roads are often designed in ways that put pedestrians at risk.
