Rep. Kabiru Mai Palace Honors the Departed with Heartfelt Cemetery Renovations in Zamfara

To mark his second year in office, Rep. Kabiru Mai Palace, who represents Gusau and Tsafe in Zamfara State, has poured his heart into a meaningful project: renovating 80 cemeteries across his constituency.

This isn’t just about fixing up old spaces—it’s about restoring dignity and respect to places that hold deep significance for the community.

During a heartfelt ceremony on Tuesday, Kabiru shared why this project matters so much to him.

“Cemeteries are where we all find our final rest,” he said. “It’s our duty to make sure these sacred spaces are cared for.”

He spoke candidly about the poor state of many local burial grounds, which had fallen into neglect, and his determination to change that.

Rooted in Islamic values that stress the importance of honoring the deceased, Kabiru’s initiative is more than a facelift—it’s a way to preserve community pride and avoid the misfortunes tied to forgotten graves, as tradition teaches.

He’s gone the extra mile, too, promising to hire guards, supply maintenance tools, and provide regular allowances to keep the cemeteries clean and secure for years to come.
