Tacha Launches 24-Hour Guinness World Record Beauty Marathon in Lagos

Reality TV star and entrepreneur Natacha Akide, popularly called Tacha, has proceeded with her much-awaited 24-hour Guinness World Record (GWR) beauty marathon in Lagos in a daring attempt to break the record for the most makeovers carried out in 24 hours. The marathon kicked off on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History, Lagos, as part of the Tacha Beauty Festival, October 10 to 12, 2025. Her team assures that the marathon has 150 models, and Tacha and her team worked day and night to create makeovers in the 24-hour time window a first-of-its-kind exercise in Nigeria’s beauty space. Before the event began, Tacha gave a heartfelt message to her late mother. A large banner at the venue had inscribed on it: “Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.” The reality television star was seen kneeling in front of the banner in solemn prayer and reflection before technically starting the record attempt. The marathon was attended by a large number of people, including fans, influencers, and celebrities such as Hilda Baci, Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Nons Miraj, Liquorose, Somadina Anyama, and Samuel Banks, who all turned out to show support. There was an organized process since models lined up for makeovers, but some individuals had some slight fears regarding meal delays due to the massive turnout. The 24-hour challenge is expected to run through the night and conclude on Sunday, after which all documentation and video evidence will be submitted to Guinness World Records for verification. If confirmed, Tacha’s feat will mark another historic moment for Nigeria in the global record books following the likes of celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s cooking marathon.

DeeOne Attempts 40-Hour Stand-Up Comedy Guinness World Record in Lagos

Nigerian comedian and reality TV star Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as DeeOne, is pushing his limits in a bid to break the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy performance. After receiving official approval from Guinness World Records in September, DeeOne launched his marathon comedy session at midnight on Thursday, October 2, at a venue in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos. The performance is being closely monitored with a timer tracking every minute of his 40-hour attempt. Videos from the event show DeeOne on stage with officials supervising the record attempt. If he pulls it off, he’ll join an exclusive group of comedians worldwide who’ve accomplished this demanding feat. The marathon is set to conclude on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The announcement has stirred up plenty of reactions on social media. While some fans are cheering him on with messages of support, others have taken a more skeptical—and humorous—approach to the attempt. “You can do it, go boy,” one supporter encouraged. However, critics haven’t held back: “Comedy that nobody will laugh! It should be a Guinness World Record for 40 hours talking marathon,” one user joked. Another questioned: “No be this same record Walter of Ebonyi break abi dem don repair am.” Some commenters doubted his material could last: “Onye ngbu way no go reach 3 hours, he don’t even have one joke to crack talk more of cracking jokes for 40 hours.” Others were curious about the logistics: “Abeg wetin DeeOne dey do for IG LIVE?”

Guinness World Records Rejects Nigerian Creator’s Controversial 24-Hour Record Attempt

Nigerian content creator Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, better known as Mandy Kiss, made headlines this week after announcing her plan to break what she believed would be a new Guinness World Record. Her proposed attempt involved trying to achieve the highest number of sexual partners within a 24-hour period. The controversial announcement spread rapidly across social media through a viral flier, revealing the event would take place on October 30, 2025, somewhere in Ikorodu, Lagos State. While the specific location remains undisclosed, the news generated significant buzz online, with reactions ranging from curiosity to outright criticism. However, Mandy Kiss’s ambitious plans hit a major roadblock when Guinness World Records stepped in to clarify their position. The organization took to their official X account (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday with a brief but definitive statement: “This is not a record we monitor.” This official response effectively shut down any legitimacy behind the proposed attempt. Guinness World Records has long-standing policies against recognizing records of a sexual nature, making Mandy Kiss’s announcement nothing more than an attention-grabbing publicity stunt.

Mandy Kiss Sparks Controversy with Claimed Guinness World Record Sex Challenge

Nigerian social media personality Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, best known by her internet username Mandy Kiss, has caused outrage and interest worldwide after announcing an intention to attempt to break a Guinness World Record (GWR) for the largest number of sexual partners in a day. In an Instagram post on Monday, the self-styled “president of prostitutes” shared a poster bearing the Guinness World Records logo, proclaiming that the challenge would begin on October 30 in Ikorodu, Lagos. The venue was not given. “100 men for 24 hours. I can and I will,” Mandy captioned the photo, declaring her intention to satisfy 100 men within 24 hours. At press time, it was unclear if Guinness World Records had received or approved such a category. In fact, the organisation has historically avoided recognizing sexually explicit feats. This is not the first time that the charge has been made. Lisa Sparxxx, an American adult film star, had, reports in 2004 stated, sex with 919 men during 22 hours at a festival in Poland, though she later clarified that the figure was closer to 150 in 7.5 hours. The charge, however, was never made official by Guinness World Records. Mandy’s confession has ignited Nigerian social media with controversy on the morality, legitimacy, and public health implications of the deed. It is considered by some to be eroding social norms, while others perceive it as another publicity sensation in the age of going viral.

Celebrity Chef Hilda Baci Calls on Lagosians to Help Prevent Massive Food Waste After Record Cook-a-thon

After making history with her marathon cooking session, Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci now faces a delicious problem: what to do with mountains of leftover food that could feed hundreds of people. The celebrity chef has issued an urgent appeal to Lagos residents, asking them to help prevent what could be one of the city’s biggest food waste disasters. Despite her team’s efforts to package and distribute thousands of meals during her record-breaking cook-a-thon, enormous quantities of perfectly good food remain at the venue. “There’s still food, please you guys come and get it. It’s a lot and I can’t waste it,” Hilda pleaded on social media, her concern about food waste clearly evident. She’s opened the doors at Eko Hotel and Suites, inviting anyone with food containers to come and take home free meals. Her determination to ensure no food goes to waste is admirable. “The food is good, so come with your cooler. We still have so much left, even after all the packaging,” she explained. “I won’t leave this place until everybody in Lagos has tasted this food.” The scale of leftover food speaks to just how massive her cooking marathon was, but it’s also sparked an important conversation about food distribution in a city where many go hungry daily. Lagosians quickly responded to her call, though not everyone thought asking people to come to Victoria Island was the best approach. Social media users offered practical suggestions that could reach those who need free meals most. “Take it directly to communities like Mushin, Orile, Mile 12, Ojuelegba, and Ijanikin,” suggested one user named Juliette580, pointing out that many people in these densely populated areas might struggle to get to the upscale hotel venue. Others had similar thoughts. User afromediabyokomile recommended targeting “orphanages and people living on the streets,” while some joked about Hilda bringing portions to mainland areas where transportation to Victoria Island can be challenging and expensive. press9jatv said: “Abeg lagosians should eat the rice ooooo. 🍚 Hilda baci rice 🍚 sweets niii. Who don chop it immortalcrown said: “There’s something I need to understand about this post. Do the pictures show what the public is invited to come and eat?
