A 32-year-old woman, Loveth Helen Alo, has been arraigned before the Enugu North Magisterial District Court for falsely claiming ownership of a five-bedroom duplex at WTC Estate, Enugu.
The Enugu State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, revealed in a statement on Tuesday, March 11, that Alo was arrested on February 1, 2025, following a petition against her.
Alo, as per the police, had visited Zion Prayer Ministry Movement Outreach in Lagos, where she publicly testified that the house was provided to her by God. Taking her testimony as true, even Evangelist Ebuka Obi used her “blessing” as a reference point to pray for his congregation.
Her lie, however, came tumbling down when she was later seen selling drinks at a small shop, raising suspicion about her true financial status. When questioned, she admitted to the lie and affirmed she was working solo. Alo has five charges, including obtaining by false pretence with intent to defraud, defamation of character, and attempting to commit a felony by trying to sell the property.
She was granted bail, and the case has been adjourned until April 9, 2025, for further hearings.
