In a tragic domestic incident, the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) has apprehended Nefisat Usman, who was wanted for the death of her co-wife following a violent altercation in Ajakagwu, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. The incident, which occurred on January 4, started as a heated argument between the two co-wives but quickly spiraled into a physical confrontation with fatal consequences.
Following the death of her co-wife, Nefisat fled the scene and went into hiding in Alloma, Ofu Local Government Area. After weeks on the run, KSVS officers finally caught up with the suspect on Saturday, January 25. S. O. Saka, who heads the ICT/Media Unit of KSVS, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Sunday.
According to authorities, Nefisat has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nigeria Police Force in Lokoja for further investigation. Law enforcement officials have assured the public that a thorough investigation will be conducted to ensure justice is served in this unfortunate case.
