Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has shared the emotional turmoil she endured following her appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast. Jegede faced heavy criticism after discussing her failed marriage on the podcast. The backlash became so intense that people began cursing her online.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the actress opened up about how the interview, hosted by Nedu, affected her brand and personal life. She revealed that while Nedu privately messaged her on WhatsApp, even asking her out, he was also sharing content that fueled the negative reactions against her.
The situation escalated when her young son became a target of online attacks, forcing her to shut down his Instagram page. Jegede also addressed speculation that she had paid for the interview, clarifying that she did not, as the movie she promoted during the conversation was not her production.
She expressed frustration over how her words were taken out of context, making her more cautious about how people manipulate the truth. Despite experiencing bitterness and anger, she found strength through the support of close friends and family. Eventually, she chose to forgive Nedu and wished him well in handling his own struggles.
Reflecting on the controversy, she pointed out that tearing others down for YouTube views benefits no one in the long run. This isn’t the first time Jegede has faced backlash. She previously had to apologize to May Edochie after showing support for Yul Edochie during the podcast interview.
