Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has challenged upcoming artistes to place their mental health at the forefront by including therapy in their budget as they pursue stardom.
Zlatan gave the advice in a post on his social media handle on Thursday, insisting that therapy should be included in the budget along with marketing and promotions.
Zlatan wrote on his X handle:
“If you get brother or sister wey be fast rising artist and you believe say he or she go blow, as una dey keep money for marketing and promo make una dey keep therapist money for one side tooo cos lol!!!”
His message is well timed, following several Nigerian artistes who have spoken about depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns that typically accompany fame and pressure of showbiz.
