Akwa United technical adviser,Kennedy Boboye, has expressed confidence that his team will avoid relegation and remain in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) next season. The Promise Keepers secured a 1-0 victory over Katsina United in Uyo on Monday, marking their seventh win of the season. However, they still sit 19th on the league table with 27 points, making every remaining match crucial.
Speaking to the club’s media, Boboye emphasized the team’s determination to fight for survival.
“Our main target now is to win both home and away games. While I’m happy with the victory, I’m disappointed we didn’t score more despite controlling the match,” he said.
He acknowledged poor finishing as a major challenge but assured fans that the team is working to improve.
“Our fans have been incredible, and we cannot afford to disappoint them. We will keep pushing, take it one game at a time, and ensure we secure enough points to stay in the NPFL,” Boboye added.
