APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has shifted the dates for its long-awaited National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, moving them from December 15–16 to new dates of December 18–19, 2025.

The change was announced in a notice titled “Change of Meeting Dates” issued by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, and posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.

According to the revised schedule, the National Caucus will now convene on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC meeting will follow on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. Both gatherings are expected to hold at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

“All members are by this invitation to TAKE NOTICE of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the statement read.

The party noted that the meetings are being convened in line with Articles 12.3 and 13.3 of the APC Constitution, which define the structure, duties, and composition of the National Caucus and NEC.

The National Caucus comprises key party figures, including the President and Vice President, former APC presidents and vice presidents, current and former governors, and zonal representatives. The NEC recognized as the party’s highest decision-making body includes the National Chairman, deputy chairmen, National Secretary, legal advisers, treasurers, state chairmen, zonal representatives, and other officers elected by the National Convention.

This rescheduling comes only days after the initial dates were announced and marks the party’s first major leadership meeting in over a year. No reason was given for the adjustment in timelines.
