Basketmouth Reflects on Personal Growth and Moving On from Toxicity as He Welcomes the New Year

Comedian Basketmouth began the New Year by sharing a thought-provoking post on Instagram, reflecting on the strength gained from overcoming a toxic relationship. He expressed his journey of self-empowerment, writing:

“She really underestimated me and assumed I was weak. Little did she know that with every new day, comes a new strength; A new drive and an unwavering determination to win.

“She judged me, made a mockery of me. She came at me with everything she had, but eventually, she burnt out.

“At the end of it all, I stood taller and stronger than I ever was. The comeback was so unexpected. But I reclaimed my power.

“Isn’t it amazing how just one second can make someone who seemed so powerful, become nothing but a shadow of a memory?

“As I walked away, I couldn’t help but stop in my glorious strides. I turned back to take one last look at her. With a bright smile on my face, I raised my right hand towards her and I flipped out the middle finger as I whispered delightfully; ‘F*ck you 2024, I WON.'”

He concluded his post with the caption: “Every relationship has an end point.”

In December 2022, Basketmouth confirmed the end of his marriage to Elsie Uzoma Okpocha, but it remains unclear whether his message was directed at a person or the year 2024 itself.
