The Confederation of African Football, along with the Local Organising Committee, has rolled out a free e-visa initiative to enhance fans’ experiences for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations that will take place in Morocco.
The new policy, announced on Friday, will permit international supporters from visa-required countries to obtain an entry visa free of charge through the official YALLA platform. CAF said the move was prompted by the surge in global interest and increased ticket bookings for the tournament, scheduled to run from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
According to CAF, the required documents for AFCON will be a Fan ID and an e-visa. Now, both documents can be seamlessly processed within the YALLA mobile app.
“A Fan ID is necessary for access to all stadiums and official Fan Areas. Supporters can apply for both the Fan ID and e-visa in one place inside the YALLA app,” it explained, adding that the combined application process offers a faster, more secure experience for both international and local fans.
In order to make an application, fans need to download the YALLA app from Google Play or the App Store or visit the official website fill in the Fan ID form and, if applicable, submit their e-visa request.
Once approved, supporters can go ahead and purchase match tickets through CAF’s ticketing platform.
CAF declared that the new measures have been implemented to ensure the event is smoothly organized, safe, and of world-class quality as the premier football festival returns to Morocco for the first time since 1988. The tournament will be played across nine stadiums in six cities and is expected to attract thousands of supporters, fuelled by intense rivalries and the rise of a new generation of African football stars.
