Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa, has mourned the death of her uncle, Chief Fabian Adibe, a Nollywood actor, who died at 82 in the early hours of Wednesday, August 20.
In an Instagram story post, Uriel described his death as “very personal,” and out of respect she would not say much. She did imply neglect, stating that “nobody checked on him,” while warning against displays of “fake love” following his death.
I’m just waiting for the fake love to start. I ain’t saying too much out of respect, but you see this one here, it’s real personal to me. Nobody phoned to inquire about my uncle. To my bestie Chi and her sister NK, God bless you both for what you did for Popsi. Rest on, sir,” she wrote.
Adibe’s death was first reported by entertainment blogger Cutie Juls on Instagram, and she confirmed the actor passed away in the early hours of August 20, 2025, but did not disclose details of his death.
Celebrity journalist Seun Oloketuyi also reported the news on Facebook, stating: “Things Fall Apart actor Fabian Adibe is dead. 2:30 a.m. this morning.”
