The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has explained the circumstances surrounding the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West, brother to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a petition filed on October 28, 2025, accusing Sammy West and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
The prosecutor, Adeh, explained that despite several invitations from the police, the suspect refused to honour any, and thus was arrested in Lagos State on a warrant from the court. He was then transferred to Abuja for further investigation and consequently charged to court on November 6, 2025, where he was remanded pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels has also accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of being the mastermind of her brother’s arrest. The actress took to her social media page in a long emotional post to accuse the police of abuse of power and bias, indicating a possible reconciliation with Nwoko to secure her brother’s release.
But the FCT Police Command insisted that the case is being handled in due process and reassured the public of its impartiality as the matter proceeds in court.
