Former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, has made a comeback to the film industry with the release of her latest movie, Hatred. Kennedy-Ohanenye, who was appointed to President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet on August 21, 2023, was dismissed on October 23, 2024, alongside four other ministers.
Since leaving office, the 51-year-old politician has shifted her focus back to filmmaking. Announcing her new project on Wednesday, she shared a link to the movie on Kenuj TV, her YouTube channel, via a post on X. Before venturing into politics, Kennedy-Ohanenye was active in Nollywood, featuring in films such as Saving My Marriage, Hunting the Angel, Royal Ploy, and The Cow Girls.
She has worked alongside top actors, including Segun Arinze, Ngozi Ezeonu, Linda Osifo, and Francis Duru. Beyond acting, she is also a lawyer and entrepreneur. In 2015, she joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and made history as the first woman to declare a presidential candidacy under the party for the 2023 elections, before withdrawing in support of Tinubu.
