Housing Ministry Denies Appointing Firm for Sale of 753 EFCC-Seized Houses Linked to Emefiele

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has debunked news that it contracted any consultant firm or company to deal with the sale of the 753 houses seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and owned by former Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele.

In a statement issued by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Badamasi Haiba, signed, the ministry described as false the claim by Pink Synergy Global Company Limited that it had been appointed as the official auctioneers of the properties.

The company, the ministry added, had been circulating letters to unsuspecting Nigerians and agencies requesting them to purchase Expression of Interests forms for the houses. One of such letters, viewed by the ministry, was signed by Yashim Kejang, the Chief Executive of the company.

For clarity, no sales of the 753 housing units have commenced,” the ministry clarified. “The public will be notified officially by an open and adequate notice upon a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the process to begin.”

The announcement directed Nigerians to direct all inquiries to the ministry’s Departments of Public Building and Housing Development or Press and Public Relations before spending resources on any purported transaction.
