Lagos State, 2Baba, Others Set for African Cultural Festival in US

Lagos State Government, Innocent Idibia, popularly called 2Baba, and other top Nigerian artists have been invited to showcase African arts and culture at the African Cultural Festival (ACF2025) to be held in Pennsylvania, United States.

Organisers said that Lagos will be represented by a group of entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators committed to exposing Africa’s cultural relevance to the world. In the meantime, 2Baba and other music stars will headline the festival’s concert titled “Rhythms of Africa” with the theme “Africa to the World: Culture, Creativity and Collaboration.”

The festival, scheduled to take place from September 19–21, 2025, is anticipated to rejoin Africa with the diaspora, heritage storytelling, and the solidification of cultural and economic ties.

Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Mr. Idris Aregbe, said the state’s participation is part of the THEMES+ agenda to deepen Lagos’ global cultural relevance. “It will allow us to tell our stories and earn a place among global cultural centers,” he said.

ACF CEO Wole Adeniyi declared that the event was well-timed, as it will drive unity, synergy, and creativity. He went on to say that for 2Baba, the festival will celebrate his legendary status, following Billboard’s recent ranking of his hit song “African Queen” as the Greatest Afrobeats Song of All Time, topping its Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs chart.

Festival Director Foluke Michael also said that Pennsylvania would be the “new frontier for Africa’s global expansion through youth empowerment, heritage storytelling, and cross-continental business networking.”

The other Afrobeats stars in Billboard’s top 10 list include Wizkid, Flavour, Rema, Tems, CKay, D’banj, Davido, Burna Boy, and P-Square.
