Nathaniel Bassey Cautions Followers: Hallelujah Challenge Is Not a Measure of Faith

Nathaniel Bassey

Renowned gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has issued a heartfelt message to his followers, emphasizing that participation in the Hallelujah Challenge is not a requirement for one’s Christian faith.

In a social media post, Bassey clarified that a believer’s faith should not be defined by their familiarity with him or other young ministers of the Gospel. He urged his audience to respect individual choices, stressing that choosing not to join the Hallelujah Challenge—a popular online worship event—does not make anyone less of a Christian.

Quoting Romans 12:3, he warned against self-exaltation and reminded followers not to put him or any other minister on a pedestal.

“I’m not the best thing after sliced bread. I don’t see myself in that manner,” he wrote, adding that each Christian has a unique journey with God and should not feel pressured to conform to others’ expectations.

Referencing Romans 14:3, Bassey encouraged mutual respect, stating,

“Those who join the Hallelujah Challenge should not look down on those who don’t, and vice versa. People are free to connect with what’s best for them.”

Despite this caution, Bassey welcomed those interested in joining the ongoing Hallelujah Challenge, announcing its return after a brief break.

He ended his message on a positive note, inviting worshippers to gather for Day 7 of the session, signing off with: “NO WAHALA! ONLY HALLELUJAH!”
