The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has refuted implication in corruption allegations against Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi, Personal Assistant to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), currently investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on bribery and money laundering.
In a Monday release, OSGF Director of Information Segun Imohiosen clarified that the office was not privy to the alleged misconduct and reiterated its commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical governance.
“The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation is not party to the allegations brought against Hon. Andrew Torhile Uchi. We uphold the tenets of good governance and ethical practice,” the release added.
The OSGF also supported the EFCC investigation process and urged the public to refrain from speculations until the legal process has been concluded.
“We want to commend and appreciate the EFCC efforts towards consolidating the rule of law. However, we ask that the general public should not jump to conclusions as the investigation is yet to be concluded,” the statement added.
The office further assured Nigerians of its resolve towards maintaining integrity in the handling of government business and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
