The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has contradicted forgery claims raised against the party by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
Issuing the statement in Abuja on Monday during a press briefing, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, revealed that Senator Anyanwu appended his signature to the formal letter to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) informing the commission of the party’s national convention soon.
Ologunagba clarified that the letter and other formal documents were signed by Anyanwu hours before the party’s 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting that took place on August 25.
He confirmed that the convention would be held on November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State, as originally scheduled, and urged the public to ignore any other report to the contrary.
