President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Zamfara Islamic School Fire, Calls for Stronger Safety Measures

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the families of the students who tragically lost their lives in a fire incident at an Islamic school in Zamfara State. The devastating fire broke out on Tuesday night in Kaura Namoda, claiming the lives of at least 17 students and leaving 16 others injured.

In a statement released on Wednesday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President extended his sympathies to the affected families, the Zamfara State government, and the school proprietors. He also offered prayers for the swift recovery of those receiving medical care.

Tinubu emphasized the need for public and private educational institutions to prioritize the safety and security of children at all times. He further directed regulatory bodies in the education sector to enforce strict adherence to safety regulations to prevent similar tragedies in the future. A local resident, Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura, confirmed the extent of the tragedy, stating that the fire had caused significant casualties and injuries.
