Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, has been hopeful that the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) will win 95 percent of the entire votes in the 2027 general elections.

While speaking at a mega rally in Kaduna where several members from the opposition crossed over to the APC in a formal manner, Governor Sani attributed the increased popularity of the party to his administration’s pursuit of justice, fairness, and inclusiveness.

He noted that the APC had only four representatives in the House of Representatives after the 2023 elections, yet the party now has 13, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has only three. Similarly, the APC now holds 26 seats in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, compared to PDP’s eight.

“Today in Kaduna, we don’t have opposition. I gave an undertaking to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu some months ago that we were shooting for 80 percent of the votes, but today, I have shifted my stance  around 95 percent of the total votes in Kaduna State will vote for APC in 2027,” Sani said.

The governor assured the new members that the APC remains an open and united party in which each member is accorded equal rights and privileges.

In his welcome address, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda referred to the APC as “the promised land” for political leaders and celebrated President Tinubu and Governor Sani for their performance and leadership.

House of Representatives Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, also embraced the party’s hold on Kaduna State, stating that APC’s influence now cuts across all senatorial zones a first political achievement in the state’s history.

Hon. Husseini Jalo, leading the defectors, thanked Governor Sani and President Tinubu for their leadership by example and committed unconditional loyalty to the APC.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister of Environment, Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, and the Chairman of North West Development Commission, Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, among a host of jubilant APC members.
