Uganda’s team captain, Khalid Aucho, has expressed confidence in the Cranes’ readiness for their upcoming battle against the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Cranes find themselves in Group C alongside Nigeria, Tunisia, and East African rival Tanzania.
While Nigeria and Tunisia are considered favorites by pundits to secure the top two spots in the group, Aucho remains optimistic about Uganda’s prospects. “Being at AFCON means you’re strong enough to compete with any team. I know my boys and they will deliver. We want to make our fans happy,” Aucho emphasized, as quoted by fufa.co.ug.
Managed by Paul Put, Uganda will kick off their campaign in Morocco 2025 against Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles on Tuesday, December 23. Their final group game will see them face Nigeria on Tuesday, December 30.
