Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly survived a frightening knife attack while locked up at MDC Brooklyn, according to a close friend who’s speaking out about the incident.
Charlucci Finney, who has known Diddy for years, told Daily Mail that the music mogul woke up one night to find a knife at his throat.
It’s still unclear whether guards stepped in or if Diddy fended off the attacker himself, but Finney called it “a very close call.”
TMZ also confirmed the incident through sources, describing it as a targeted intimidation tactic.
Finney believes Diddy was singled out because inmates convicted of sex-related offenses are often targets inside prison walls.
The attack even came up during Diddy’s recent sentencing. His lawyer, Brian Steel, mentioned it in court and said a correctional officer stopped the situation before anyone got seriously hurt.
The 54-year-old is currently serving 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on two counts under the Mann Act, which bans transporting people across state lines for illegal purposes.
He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Meanwhile, TMZ reported rumors that former President Donald Trump might pardon Diddy, though the White House quickly shot down those claims.
Prison consultant Sam Mangel said on TMZ Live that Diddy will likely be transferred to a safer facility eventually, but warned that high-profile inmates constantly face threats like this.
For those close to him, the knife incident is a grim wake-up call. Finney described it as “terrifying” and a harsh reminder that even celebrities aren’t safe behind bars.
